On The Young and the Restless, Chelsea Lawson is a notorious scam artist. What else could she become when she has Anita Lawson as her mother? Here are some of her all-time biggest cons.
Young and the Restless: Chelsea Lawson’s Top Four All-Time Cons
1. Poisoning Rey Rosales
One of Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) most recent cons may not even be fully realized yet given Rey’s (Jordi Vilasuso) unexpected death after he had a heart attack while driving. She started poisoning Rey, hoping to pin his attempted murder on Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
However, she ended up getting caught, but she was declared not guilty by reason of insanity and spent time recovering in a mental institution. Now, Rey is dead, and they’d grown close before he died, which leaves her grieving. There’s still the unrealized possibility that her misdeed ended up harming Rey’s heart.
2. Embezzling From Fenmore’s
Chelsea set up a bogus Fenmore’s shopping website that embezzled money from Lauren Fenmore Baldwin’s (Tracey Bregman) boutique. She ultimately amassed a quarter million dollars in ill-gotten funds, but her fiancé Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) found it, and everything started crumbling.
This misdeed also involved Chelsea smashing Sharon (Sharon Case) over the head with a coffee pot at Crimson Lights to keep her from telling Nick the truth of Christian’s paternity. She skipped town, but at the last moment, she left Christian on Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) doorstep.
3. Conning Connor’s Father
When she became pregnant with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), Chelsea knew that Adam Newman (now Mark Grossman) had fathered her child. However, she conned Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) into believing the child was his. A hereditary eye disease clued Adam into the truth that he was Connor’s father, and the jig was up.
4. Scamming Billy Abbott With Anita
After Chelsea lured an inebriated Billy (Jason Thompson) into impregnating her, she conspired with her mother, Anita (Catherine Bach) to ruin Billy’s relationship with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Ultimately, she wasn’t successful, and she ended up signing paperwork for Victoria to adopt her son with Billy, Johnny Abbott.
