News that Daytime Emmy-winner Jordi Vilasuso is leaving The Young and the Restless prompted fans to wonder how Rey Rosales might exit Genoa City. We have a couple of theories that could serve as a proper exit…and move the story forward.
The last time Rey and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) went on a stakeout together, Chance had a panic attack and froze. Now, Chance insists he’s past that little hiccup and is ready to return to the force.
If Rey takes him back…and there’s a repeat incident – which, this time, ends with Rey’s death, it could force Chance to accept the fact that he isn’t nearly as mentally healthy…and his partner’s demise won’t be in vain. Rey will at least go out a hero!
When Rey thought his wife, Mia (Noemi Gonzalez) was pregnant with his child, he was thrilled – he was dying to be a dad. (Maybe not with Mia, which is why it’s for the best the baby turned out to be his brother’s, but Rey was enamored with the idea of parenthood, nonetheless.) However, when he married Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), who already had three grown children, Rey accepted that a biological kid wasn’t in the cards for him.
But Rey has been spending a lot of time with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) lately. Not only is Chelsea the mother of the miracle known as Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), but she seems open to having another messiah of a child.
At the rate things are going on Young and the Restless, a one-night stand between Rey and Chelsea seems like more and more of a possibility. And if Chelsea gets pregnant, we can see Rey leaving Sharon for Chelsea and their baby…and both of them taking off for a fresh start. Which version would you prefer?
