Jack Abbott and Diane have spent decades being in and out of love on The Young and the Restless. They’ve adored each other, despised each other, and tormented each other. Despite it all, all roads led back to saying “I do” once again.
Today, we take a look back on Diane (Susan Walters) and Jack’s (Peter Bergman) romance, their family, and the road back to true love. It took a hot minute for Jack to warm up to his fake-her-death ex. Who could blame him? Diane left chaos in her wake — and a very sad boy who missed his mom that Jack had to raise all by himself (with the help of boarding schools, of course).
Slowly but surely, Diane wormed her way into both Kyle and Jack’s lives. They were upset at first, but she proved herself repeatedly (at least in their eyes). First, by befriending Ally (Kelsey Wang) and giving Jack closure and family. Then, by doing her best to stay on the up and up, even while trying to climb her way out of trouble.
While Diane was thrilled to have Jack’s ring back on her finger, everyone (and we mean nearly EVERYONE) warned Jack away from walking down that aisle. Nothing could stop him, though. He’s a man who follows his heart, and Diane certainly has his heart. She may even have his soul.
These days, the power couple is going strong. They live together, work together, and even scheme together. Will they stay this way forever, or is this just the calm before the storm?
