Victoria Newman and Ashland Locke broke up several times on The Young and the Restless, and each time was more vicious than the last. Now they’re at the Be Careful, He Might Want To Kill You Stage.
The Young and the Restless Polling
So, you know, the idea of a reunion seems moot. (Then again, several couples where they actually did try to kill each other would suggest nothing is impossible to forgive.) But are viewers rooting for one over the other? Here’s what you told us:
Y&R: None of the Above
They are both terrible people, 61% gag in disgust. It’s impossible to figure out which one is worse. We realize Ashland (Robert Newman) lied about having cancer in order to trick Victoria (Amelia Heinle) into marriage, but then she turned around and conned him out of all his money. So, no one is exactly a victim here. And, most certainly, nobody is a hero. Both of them continuing to suffer is fine with us.
The Young and the Restless: Always Believe Women
Victoria was just getting back at Ashland for what he did, 26% of The Young and the Restless audience defends. Ashland was basically asking for it. She didn’t rob him of his money. She took back the money her father gave him to divorce her. Which Ashland did. But, that’s not the point. Anything that once belonged to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will always continue to belong to Victor Newman. She was just protecting her Daddy.
Clan of the Cave Bear
A smaller 13% of you are sympathetic to Ashland. The Newmans screwed him over. Our guess is that Victor felt so stupid for initially falling for Ashland’s lies that he now has to pretend he knew it all along. He’s not getting back at Ashland for hurting Victoria. He’s getting back at Ashland for making Victor look like a complete idiot. And that’s not a good enough reason.
