Whatever Happened to The Bold and the Beautiful’s Nicole Avant?

Though she only held the spotlight for a short time – January 16, 2015, to January 18, 2018 – The Bold and the Beautiful’s Nicole Avant was certainly put through the wringer.

Who Was Nicole Avant?

Nicole spent most of her formative years in a state of wonder. She wondered why her elder sister, Maya, had not had contact with family in decades. She wondered why her parents, Julius and Vivienne, refused to discuss their eldest child. And she also wondered why her father lost his job as a limousine driver soon after Maya had decamped for parts unknown.

When her curiosity finally got the better of her, Nicole did some snooping… and she found the answers to all her queries. Armed with the knowledge that Maya had been born a biological male named Myron, Nicole investigated her sister’s whereabouts – exactly where had Maya gone after being released from prison? She eventually located her in sunny Los Angeles.

Nicole immediately made her presence known… and Maya was less than thrilled to see her. The former insisted that she was only in L.A. for two reasons – 1) to attend UCLA and 2) to better acquaint herself with the sister she never knew.

But it became apparent that all was not as it seemed where young Nicole was concerned. She eventually copped to knowing all about Maya’s transition, and she promised to keep quiet – as long as she was provided with free room and board and a modeling position at Forrester Creations… and a car.

Honesty Is The Best Policy

An argument between the two women was overheard by Carter Walton, who learned of Maya’s secret. The trio agreed to keep quiet with the assurance that the truth would be out as soon as Maya’s lover, Rick Forrester, proposed marriage.

But Nicole, who was being romantically pursued by Wyatt Spencer (he was merely using her to gather damning information about Rick and/or his supporters) let slip the truth – and Maya’s decision to transition was made public.

Rather than destroy the dynamo Rick/Maya partnership (which Bill Spencer and Co. had been attempting to do), it actually served to bring them closer together. And it also resulted in Maya and Nicole growing even closer – especially after the latter stood up to the bigoted Julius on the former’s behalf.

Nicole Avant – Romance and Relocation
Upon accepting an internship at Forrester Creations, Nicole made the acquaintance and eventually fell in love with Zende – though she also caught the attention of the young man’s cousin, Thomas.

When Thomas made a move and kissed her, Nicole was heartened… but became even more so once Zende professed the extent of his feelings for her. The couple’s happily ever after, however, would have to wait.

First, there were disagreements over Nicole’s decision to carry a baby for Rick and Maya (resulting in the birth of Lizzie). Then Zende’s infatuation with Sasha Thompson – a woman who turned out to be Julius’s illegitimate daughter – nearly tore them asunder.

But young love persisted. Despite a brief separation over Nicole’s considering serving as Rick and Maya’s surrogate for a second time – during which Zende slept with Sasha –  Nicole couldn’t help but accept Zende’s sincere apology and his proposal of marriage.

The couple married in a lavish ceremony at the Forrester estate, and they weathered the possibility that Nicole might never conceive naturally and her momentary hesitation at signing the adoption papers that would legally bind baby Lizzie to Maya and Rick.

Though a bit hesitant, the young marrieds jumped at the opportunity to relocate to Paris, France, and work at the Forrester International office – remaining unaware that the job had been arranged by Maya who worried that Lizzie was growing too attached to Nicole.
