Today marked the day that Days of our Lives “Cin” shippers have been waiting for. After surviving a number of trials and tribulations, bad boy Ben Weston and good girl Ciara Brady may finally be getting their happy ending. Robert Scott Wilson, who plays the reformed “Necktie Killer” has his thoughts on the proposal.
Robert Scott Wilson: A New Future For Ben
“Yes, he hits one knee, and he is as romantic as he possibly can be,” he told TV Insider about the moment Ben proposes to Ciara, a plot that continues on Tuesday. “The whole [proposal] is threaded with a lot of their history—date locations and things that are very special to them, like fortune cookies.”
The couple has had their share of drama, including kidnappings, rape, and that near-execution by lethal injection. Plus, dating a former serial killer—even one supposedly reformed—does not normally go over well with friends and family. You can bet Hope (Kristian Alfonso) won’t be too happy seeing her daughter engaged to him just like she was less-than-pleased when they began dating.
“Mom isn’t going to be the happiest about [the proposal.] He’s done vicious things. Ben has to lie in the bed that he made,” Wilson said. “He has this tarnished reputation, and he didn’t want to bring down someone to his level,” Wilson said. “Now that his life is coming together, he can take that next step with her.”
While Ben may have a short period of happiness with his engagement and new career as an auto mechanic, Wilson teased that it’s probably not going to last long as some “dangerous people” are hovering by to threaten his happiness.
“He’ll never be squeaky-clean,” he said. “That’s just not who he is, even though he has a good heart and he’s on the right path.” Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
