The Bold and the Beautiful has made soap opera and TV history many times and now it’s doing so again by being the first scripted show to get back into production following weeks of hiatus due to the coronavirus.
As previously reported, the show went back into production this week (and then hit the “pause” button to make sure all safety protocols were as up to date as possible) and is set to resume taping on Tuesday, June 23. One of the show’s leading men, Don Diamont (Bill), is cheering the show for being a leader in these challenging times.
“Dawn of a new historic day @boldandbeautifulcbs as we followed our fearless leader, [Bradley Bell] into unchartered waters,” Diamont said on Instagram. “We led the charge becoming the FIRST, and for the time being, the ONLY production in HOLLYWOOD to say….ACTION! I was really honored and proud to be the first shot of THE COMEBACK, and so happy to see everybody. Speaking of seeing everybody…, Is that @jacquelinemwood_1 [Steffy] in these photos??? Hummmmm……😂
“Congrats to ALL associated with B&B!” the actor added. “A special shout out to [Line Producer] @annwillmott for her tireless efforts in setting up incredibly rigorous and impressive safety protocols. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS #BoldandBeautiful 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼.”
Check out Diamont’s post below and scroll through the photos that show how the show is adjusting to the new normal. BB debuted on March 23, 1987. The series was created by the late William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. Bradley Bell serves as the show’s executive producer/head writer.
BB won three consecutive Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Drama Series starting in 2009. The show is nominated again in that category. The show’s top storyline in 2019 was the kidnapping of baby Beth and the big reveal that she was actually alive! The Daytime Emmys are set to air on Friday, June 26 that 8 p.m. on CBS. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
