On Thursday, former General Hospital star Robert Palmer Watkins turned 32 years old and used this birthday to reflect on his life and the things he wished he knew when he was younger.

Happy Birthday, Robert Palmer Watkins

However, he did this by writing a message to his younger self and sharing it on Instagram along with an adorable photo of himself as a child.

“Hey, little man. Let me talk to me right now. I’m pretty used to beating myself down, finding my flaws, judging my past mistakes, and worrying about every aspect of what it means to be me. Today is my birthday.

“So I wanna talk to little Rob. I’m proud of you. I don’t give you enough credit. I’m constantly finding your faults and comparing you to everyone else. When I see this pic I remember how far you have come. You have a good heart kid.

“No matter what trouble you get yourself into, that heart always finds its way. Keep letting that be your guide in your years to come. I love you, Rob. Keep going. You have amazing people around you and you owe it to them and yourself to leave an impact. Happy birthday.”

Robert Palmer Watkins played Dillon Quartermaine on General Hospital from 2015 to 2017, Tracy’s son with Paul Hornsby. On the actor’s birthday, GH fans got to re-live some of his time on screen when he appeared in the show’s classic episode.

At the time, Dillon was renewing his friendship with Lulu (Emme Rylan) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) after spending several years out of town. He was also growing close to Valerie (Brytni Sarpy) and Maxie even thought Val was pregnant with his child. (Sabrina was the actual pregnant woman — and her baby daddy was Carlos Rivera.)

Soap Hub wishes the actor a very happy belated birthday and would love to see him return as Dillon one day. Maybe he can pick up the pieces after Maxie’s relationship with Peter inevitably falls apart.
