New dad Darin Brooks of The Bold and the Beautiful would be happy to see every needy kid get a holiday toy this season. To that end, the Emmy-winning actor recently took a break from his busy schedule to help get the word out on how folks in California can donate to those less fortunate.
Brooks, who plays publishing heir Wyatt Spencer on BB, lent his time and name for the charitable endeavor, ChiPs For Kids Toy Drive, which has gotten underway.
“I’m heeerreeee!! And we brought TOYS!!!! Happy Holidays everyone! And thank you @CBSLA @cbs2kcal9brk #CHiPsForKids and @CHPsouthern for such a great time and great cause!!!” Brooks tweeted.
“We’ve been donating presents and toys for 15 years plus from The Bold and the Beautiful,” Brooks said in a local news segment.
“It’s such a great cause to the underserved communities,” the actor told CBS2 in Los Angeles, explaining, “When you donate these presents and toys to different CHiPs [California Highway Patrol] affiliates it goes to those [specific] communities so, it feels more personal. You feel like you’re helping your neighbor.”
Izzy Diaz and Antonio Corbo from the upcoming CBS sitcom ‘Broke’ were also on hand to take part in the toy kickoff media event. The series stars Jamie Camil (Jane the Virgin) and Pauley Perrette (NCIS) as a couple who take in wealthy relatives after their money dries up. Will family love triumph over class differences?
