The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: All In For Douglas

The Bold and the Beautiful recap for October 21-25, 2019 features a whole lot of brainless decision making, a commitment-phobic Liam, and a fight over the custody of little Douglas Forrester.

The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Weekly Highlights

The characters on The Bold and the Beautiful — particularly the supporting ones — have got to be some of the stupidest people on the planet. How else can you describe someone like Zoe (Kiara Barnes), who accepted an invitation to move in with the very same man who promised to harm both her physical person and her standing in the community?

Heck, right before she agreed to move into the apartment that her former tormenter shares with Vinny (Joe LoCicero), Zoe wondered aloud if she would be receiving threatening text messages from the Forrester scion over her viewing of his creepy Anti/Pro Thomas board.

Then there’s Vinny who sings Thomas’ (Matthew Atkinson) praises because he lent him a car. And even though he has seen his buddy work tirelessly to ruin his father and stepmother’s marriage, Vinny still claims that Thomas is a good dude who should be allowed to raise Douglas. Seriously? What’s wrong with these people?

Confrontation

Perhaps the only other character more delusional than Zoe, Vinny, and Thomas combined is poor simpering Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). She can’t even see how expertly Liam (Scott Clifton) danced around her request to confirm his commitment to her in front of Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

But Steffy — one of the few characters on this show with a brain in their head — picked up her exes reluctance to commit himself fully and she made sure to let Hope know it. Steffy was also quick to point out how selfish and self-absorbed Hope was but that, of course, is a Logan family trait so there isn’t much the girl can do about that.

A Big Ask

The biggest concern this week had to do with little Douglas’ future. Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) was certain what was best for the boy was to be raised by Hope and Liam so, to that end, she had adoption papers drawn up and hand-delivered them to her daughter and would-be son-in-law.

But, not so surprisingly, Liam immediately tried to talk the women out of the plan. He argued that he was already spread to thin as a parent — he is juggling two daughters with two different mothers — and when that didn’t past muster he postured that Thomas might one day regain his sanity and they couldn’t keep the boy away from his natural father.

However, Hope persisted and actually asked Thomas to sign away his legal rights to Douglas. Thomas, in turn, made a beeline for Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and told his father that Brooke and Hope were trying to steal his child.

Decisions

Ridge — with Thomas in tow — arrived at his former abode and let it be known in no uncertain terms that Hope and Liam would NEVER become Douglas’ parents. And his reasoning? “You can’t steal a child.”

That’s right folks. Ridge — with a straight face and without a trace of irony — argued that Hope and Brooke were trying to steal the son of the man who, for all intents and purposes, perpetrated a fraud that kept a mother from regaining her stolen baby.

Then, to add insult to injury, Ridge compared the situation to Hope “stealing” Beth from Steffy and wondered what the difference was. Hmmm…

Perhaps the difference is that Hope was reclaiming her biological child — who had been spirited away and given to another woman — while the current situation involves two women trying to …continue reading on the next page —>

Perhaps the difference is that Hope was reclaiming her biological child — who had been spirited away and given to another woman — while the current situation involves two women trying to keep a young boy from falling into the clutches of his mentally and emotionally abusive father.

Not to worry. To ensure his grandson’s safety, Ridge took him and Thomas over to Eric’s where all three of them will be living from now on. Which is an absolutely perfect plan. Douglas will now be roomies with his unstable father, two male jezebels and a woman with a penchant for playing with swords and pushing people who annoy her over cliffs.

With Ridge’s decision made, Brooke removed her wedding ring, handed it to him and proclaimed their marriage over. It was her or Thomas and now she knows where she stands.

The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Weekly Musings

Is Thomas’ description of the Logan women — the one where Donna (Jennifer Gareis) is dumber than a pile of bricks, Katie (Heather Tom) is at death’s door every other week and Brooke is just a slut from the Valley — cruel or perceptive?
