Thomas is starting to show signs of remorse on The Bold and the Beautiful after spending the first part of this year as a master manipulator. But he has a long way to go to prove to everyone he should be alone with his son, Douglas.
Who should raise Douglas? His “stepmother” Hope (Annika Noelle) or should Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) be allowed to remain in charge of his son’s welfare and care? Soap Hub posed this question to BB fans.
Hope For Douglas’ Future
The majority of you, 81%, feel that Hope should raise Douglas for the foreseeable future. Douglas loves and trusts Hope. He doesn’t feel that way about his dad so, even though it might put a strain on Hope and Liam’s (Scott Clifton) marriage, you feel that Hope needs to be Douglas’ future!
The best part, of course, is that Hope and Liam taking charge of Douglas would ultimately lead to tense scenes with Thomas, who may (or may not) give up his pursuit of Hope, but he’s not going to relinquish his role as Douglas’ dad without a fight!

The rest of you, 19%, feel that Thomas should keep custody of Douglas and continue to raise him. We’ve already seen how Douglas can reach his dad, telling him that deep down he’s a good guy and that they’re buddies.

Thomas broke down and was touched by his son’s love for him. It’s not just that Douglas needs his dad — Thomas needs his son! They need to stay together for each other’s sake.
Alternative Family
Thomas and Hope aren’t the only choices as to who will be the candidates related to Douglas’ care. He probably shouldn’t live with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) given her feelings for Thomas.
He could go live with either his grandfather Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) or his great-grandfather Eric (John McCook) and his wife Quinn (Rena Sofer) or his Aunt Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). In fact, Douglas’ family is so big, he’s got lots of options! The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
