Now that we know The Bold and the Beautiful’s Taylor is dying from a heart issue, we’ll be sad to see her go since she just joined the show in August. This being a soap, though, we’re confident they’ll find a cure for her ailment. In the meantime, Budig shared some wonderful words about what it’s been like joining the cast.
Best Show in LA
Budig spoke to Soap Opera Digest and gushed about all her new castmates and executive producer Brad Bell, who she said, “Couldn’t be more adorable or sweet.” While she didn’t know most of the cast members, she got a lovely text from John McCook (Eric), who introduced himself and welcomed her, proclaiming that B&B “Is the best show to be on in all of Los Angeles.” She was not only moved by his words, but seeing him in person, as well as marveling at his piano skills, made her feel comfortable.
She had previously worked with Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) on All My Children and was glad to have a friend when she walked into her new work environment. Having previously only been in group scenes with him on AMC, she was happy for some amazing scenes with just the two of them. “And I feel so comfortable and safe with him on set,” she said, adding, “It’s been great!”

Everyone Was Cool
Getting to work with Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) was also a treat, and she admired the actress’ stunning beauty and wonderful demeanor, stating, “She’s a really cool person with a nice, calm, sweet energy. I find that both she and Jacqui are just very real, very authentic.” Jacqui, of course, is Jaqueline MacInnes Wood, who plays Taylor’s daughter Steffy.
She loved MacInnes Wood’s work ethic and admired her for successfully balancing her home life with work. She was also surprised that her on-screen daughter would ask her if she wanted anything from the local grocery store at lunchtime. “She’s just very sweet that way,” Budig stated.
With Brooke and Taylor finally attempting to thaw their feud and Taylor facing her mortality, Budig’s got her work cut out for her, and we couldn’t be happier! (Find out how Eric dealt with his own near-death experience.)
