Should Hope Logan Spencer need to decompress on The Bold and the Beautiful, she might want to check in with her portrayer, Annika Noelle. The Daytime Emmy-nominated actress is the subject of Soap Hub’s latest Wellness Wednesday column.
Annika Noelle has played out some strenuous situations on The Bold and the Beautiful, including but not limited to being told her infant daughter didn’t survive and entering an almost loveless marriage with Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). In real-life, Noelle works hard to achieve a balance in life that reduces stress.
Soap Hub: Why is wellness important to you?
Annika Noelle: Wellness to me means a balanced mind, body, and soul. When those are nurtured and taken care of, the burdens of life can become easier to bear, and I find that I can take on more.
Soap Hub: How do you keep a healthy body and mind?
Annika Noelle: It is a constant practice, and some weeks are better than others. But first and foremost, I try to operate from a place of gratitude. Then I try to get my body moving, whether that’s stretching, walking the dog, or going to the gym. And finally, I always try to make time to reconnect with nature at least once a week. I find if I can do these three simple things, I feel more grounded and at peace in life.
Soap Hub: Do you have any wellness tips or tricks?
Annika Noelle: Drink lots of water and be sure to carry a water bottle with you that isn’t cumbersome.
Soap Hub: Is there something you’re focusing on in particular in 2022 – more meditating? More water?
Annika Noelle: Prioritizing my overall wellness. I can tend to solely focus on work and let other things slide, so I’m striving to find a better balance between it all.
Soap Hub: Are there any books, blogs, or podcasts you follow and/or can recommend for wellness?
Annika Noelle: I really enjoyed The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. I’ve also liked listening to The Doctor’s Farmacy with Mark Hyman M.D. There also is a book that Sean Kanan [Deacon Sharpe] gave me, Way of the Cobra, might give that a try soon…
Soap Hub: What advice would you have for someone looking to get started with a wellness plan?
Annika Noelle: Just take it one day at a time. And soon, those small efforts start to become small habits, which soon become an instinct that you don’t even have to think about anymore. You just do it.
