While Poppy isn’t a bad person on The Bold and the Beautiful, fans weren’t surprised when Li lunged at her and started to strangle her after learning about Poppy’s affair with Finn. The one-night stand with her nephew resulted in a daughter…Luna. So, an angry Li choked Poppy until she nearly passed out, causing bruises on her neck. Romy Park shared some behind-the-scenes magic about the whole conflict.
It Was a Breathtaking Experience
On Instagram, Park shared a video in which she stood very still while the makeup crew worked on her neck, post-strangulation. She added the caption, “BTS the #setlife @naomimatsudaofficial and I had such a blast with the choke scenes! These were our favorite scenes together so far! Did you catch those fantastic handprints around my neck?”
Park then thanked the creative people involved in making the encounter look realistic: “Makeup: @tobylammmakeup @lipsticknlashesohmy, Hair: @stephpaugh that amazing ponytail!” One of the makeup people stated, “Getting ready for the choke scene.” The fans praised Park and Naomi Matsuda’s (Li) acting in the scene with one responding, “Oh my gosh, girl! I did!!! Had to keep telling myself it wasn’t real!!!😂 Excellent acting by both of you!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏.” (Learn about Park’s furry new family members.)

Just Choking Around
One follower reacted, “It was scary but I’m glad they didn’t kill you off. 🫶🏻👩🏼,” and Park replied, “@gypsy_blonde_ poppy is the catalyst for so much drama 😜 😘😘😘.” Another fan commented on the fact that just as Li and Poppy seemed to have patched things up, the horrible secret got out. “That was a wild scene today. You play poppy so good I felt her heart break because she just got her sisters love back. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Two great actresses. Love it,” they wrote.
Park replied, “@_sherry.64 thank you so much 🙏🏼 ❤️ I share that compliment with @naomimatsudaofficial b/c before every scene (where she goes off on Poppy) she says in character as Li ‘Just know how much I really do love you,’ and we connect immediately as our characters. That is the greatest gift an actor can give to another actor. (Find out how Matsuda praised the show’s stunt people.)
