Y&R’s Joshua Morrow and B&B’s Crew Morrow Talk Work And Crossovers

As newcomer Will Spencer to The Bold and the Beautiful, Crew Morrow has been enjoying following in his father’s footsteps. Dad Joshua Morrow started playing Nick on The Young and the Restless when he was 20, and Crew began his soap career at 19. The two discussed being in the same industry and how some cast members reacted to their uncanny resemblance.

Dad to the Bone

Entertainment Tonight posted a video interview with Father and Son Morrow on Facebook. Crew first introduced himself with, “Hey ET, I’m Crew Morrow on the set of Bold and the Beautiful.” His Dad then stated, “And I’m his father,” pointing to his son and adding, “His real father.” This was about Don Diamont playing Will’s dad, Bill Spencer, on B&B.

Joshua, who has played Nick Newman on Y&R since 1994, discussed a possible crossover with his character. “I’ve asked to be on B&B several times, and it’s never happened, but I’m hoping that this is…finally my path,” he said while smiling from ear to ear. Many crossovers between the CBS sudsers have occurred over the years, and fans would really love to see father and son on screen together. (Find out what Crew was up to before appearing on B&B.)

Senior Morrow responded to whether he was happy that his son has followed in his footsteps, explaining that the soap industry is difficult. Every parent wants to see their children succeed and be happy. He noted that Crew is “Tough and single-minded, and he just…he was gonna make it happen, and he sure did.” Crew explained Dad’s advice: “He tells me to be confident, have faith in yourself, and walk in with some swag.”

Heather Tom (Katie, B&B) and Don Diamont (Bill, B&B) were also interviewed, and Tom stated, “I played Joshua’s sister on The Young and the Restless. I remember when Crew was born! So it does feel very much full circle.” Recalling first working with Crew, Diamont remarked, “His tone of voice…it was Josh!” and Tom agreed. Diamont continued explaining that both father and son have the, “Same sense of humor.”

The younger Morrow remarked that when he first did scenes with his on-screen mom, Tom, she was blown away by his resemblance to Joshua. “She was like, ‘You look so much like your dad right now.’ And I was like, ‘Oh man, not that ugly guy,” as Dad chuckled along.
