The Talk, the CBS show that has championed daytime dramas with special soap-themed episodes, has been renewed for another season! The daily chatfest is hosted by Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Jerry O’Connell, Natalie Morales, and Sheryl Underwood.
The Talk Is Renewed for Season 13
Not only is The Talk coming back for a 13th season, but so are all five hosts! “The producers are just telling me there is some breaking news,” host Natalie Morales shared on-air on today’s episode. “This is just coming in right now. The Talk has been renewed for Season 13.”
“That was crazy. This feels so good,” Akbar Gbajabiamila said after the audience responded with cheers. Added Jerry O’Connell, “Now I know why all our bosses showed up today.”
Creating Crossovers
CBS has created synergy with The Talk and the network’s two daytime dramas — The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Today, Y&R’s Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott) and Susan Walters (Diane Jenkins) appeared on the show to discuss Diane’s return to the canvas (look for a story about it Tuesday on Soap Hub). Underwood and Gbajabiamila recur on B&B, respectively, as Emmy, Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) associate, and Max, a marketing executive for Forrester Creations.
The Talk and Soap Hub
Last November, The Talk and Soap Hub teamed up to bring fans The 2nd Annual Soap Hub Awards, in which your favorite actors and actresses from each of the four soaps received awards. Soap Hub congratulates The Talk, the show’s hosts, producers, and the entire company on their renewal for another season!
The Talk is executive produced by Heather Gray and Kristin Matthews and airs daily on CBS at 2 pm ET and 1 pm PT. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS.
