The Bold and the Beautiful has pulled off another shocking revelation! It turns our that Dr. John ‘Finn’ Finnegan isn’t dead after all as viewers saw in Monday’s episode. Finn’s portrayer, Tanner Novlan, dropped by The Talk to answer some questions about the good doctor’s resurrection.
Finn’s mother, Dr. Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda), was shown being very serious on Monday’s episode when she returned to where she’s staying. The camera slowly and ominously revealed Li wasn’t alone — a bedridden and unconscious Finn was there, too! He’s alive!
“Okay, so, here’s the thing…I kind of knew!” Novlan confessed to viewers when he appeared on The Talk to discuss that he was aware Finn hadn’t gone to the great soap in the sky. “Don’t be mad at me!” He adds, “But I was blown away by the fans’ reaction to [Finn’s death],” the actor told the audience. “I couldn’t believe the support, but I’m contractually obligated not to tell you guys.”
The Talk’s Amanda Kloots pointed out that Finn seemingly died on April 1 — AKA April Fool’s Day. Was that a hint that maybe Finn wasn’t dead? “It was a little tricky to navigate,” said Novlan, who reveals he couldn’t even inform his mom he was coming back. “She is the biggest B&B fan,” the actor says noting that his mom, understandably, was devastated when she found out Finn was getting killed. “The whole time I wanted to say…’Mom, don’t worry, it’s okay. Just stick with it.’ She was so mad at the producers. I was like DON’T write, Mom. It’s going to be okay!”
Of course, Finn’s not out of the woods yet. And poor Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) has no idea that her husband is even alive. The Talk’s Sheryl Underwood asked if an emotional reunion with Finn and his bride is in the works. “We’ll see,” Novlan cautions. “I’m not sure how much I can tell. How amazing would it be if we could reunite Finn and Steffy?” Speaking of leading ladies, Novlan was asked about expanding his real-life family with wife Kayla Ewell (ex-Caitlin) as the couple is expecting another baby later this year. “Buckle up…we’re excited,” Novlan enthuses.
