John McCook has played Eric Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful for 35 years. His dressing room is right by the show’s stage, and the actor has decorated it with personal and professional items. Now, thanks to social media, he’s able to bring folks inside his work home.
McCook recorded footage of his dressing room for viewers to see just as co-star Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton) dropped by for a visit. “My dressing room does not look like your dressing room,” Saint-Victor praised. “No one’s does.”
McCook showed many of the prints and photos on his dressing room walls including a cast photo taken in Eric’s office that features past cast members Ronn Moss (ex-Ridge Forrester) and Kim Matula (ex-Hope Logan). He has props from the show, too, including a faux Calif. license plate specific to the Forrester family that reads “FRSTR2.”
“FRSTR1, I guess, belongs to Stephanie [Forrester, Susan Flannery], probably,” quips McCook. “So, I was lucky to get one at all.” He also showed photos of him with celebrities including Carol Channing (Hello, Dolly), who guest-starred on B&B back in 1993, and Carol Burnett, who did a stage show with McCook in Long Beach, Calif. titled Putting It Together in 1998. McCook has a few photos of his wife Laurette Spang McCook (Battlestar Galactica) in his room. “She’s cute,” the actor says with a wink. “I gotta see if I can meet her.”
McCook also has a production layout of what the Forrester mansion was going to look like before it was ever constructed. The long-standing set was created by late B&B production designer Sy Tomashoff. “Jack Forrestel [B&B’s production designer] made sure I got a copy of this,” McCook says. Saint-Victor appreciated the personal tour that can be seen below in McCook’s Instagram post. “It’s always a good time hanging with you John,” the Saint-Victor posted.
