The Bold and the Beautiful News: Denise Richards Escapes America To Film New Series

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Brooke would love nothing more than to put Shauna, Ridge’s new wife, on a plane and send her out of Los Angeles. She’s getting her wish sort of (but not really). Shauna’s portrayer, Denise Richards, recently shared on social media she’s flying to Europe to complete another project.

“Ragamuffin…. on my way to Spain,” Richards posted on Instagram. “Back shooting #glowanddarkness started before we were all on lockdown. I’m beyond grateful that my family is healthy & that I get to go back to work on this project, & see new friends I made. Thank you to everyone that jumped through hoops getting me there. It does not go unnoticed🙏🏻💕.”

It’s not easy to travel to Spain as an American this summer, as the European Union, which includes Spain, has banned Americans from entering due to The United States being the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic. There are exceptions to the travel ban, which can be seen here.

The actress had previously shared that she’s playing María de Champagne in Glow and Darkness. “Thank you to our amazing cast and crew that work tirelessly & harder than all of us actors,” Richards posted. “Thank you our amazing writer & director #joseluismoreno for keeping everyone going & our brilliant magician #joseluisalcaine ..soon we will be up & shooting again. Until then be safe everyone sending prayers that you all are healthy & see you soon!!”

The series tells the story of Saint Francis of Assissi and also focuses on historical characters including Pope Urban II, Leonor of Aquitaine, and Richard the Lionheart. The series features other familiar faces including Jane Seymour (Live & Let Die; Smallville) and Bruce Davison (X-Men).

It’s likely viewers won’t see any less of Shauna despite Richards juggling multiple projects. The show has been adept for years at pre and post-taping scenes. Our guess is that Ridge won’t extricate himself from Shauna any time soon.

So while Richards may be out of the country, Shauna is still very much a presence on the BB canvas. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
