Soap Veteran Ashley Jones Celebrates Her Birthday

Bridget may no longer be in the thick of the Forrester family drama and Parker might be out west without Kristina but actress Ashley Jones certainly has a reason to celebrate.

That’s because she was born on September 3, 1976, in Memphis, Tennessee, meaning that this talented performer is turning 43 years old today! The Volunteer State native relocated alongside her family to Texas when her father accepted a pastorship there.

Jones was bitten by the acting bug at an early age and at five years old she starred in her first commercial. She developed a love for the stage and joined the Actors Theatre of Huston. During her time there Jones appeared in The Women, Ah Wilderness, Brighton Beach Memories, and The Chalk Garden. For the latter, the 12-year-old actress earned rave reviews.

In 1991, the 15-year-old Jones made her television debut in the CBS mini-series Fire Next Time which earned her a Youth in Film Award nomination. Coincidentally it was during her work on this project that Jones met her future (first) husband Noah Nelson.

A role on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman’s inaugural season followed and then Jones joined the cast of another CBS series. This time it was a daytime soap opera titled The Young and the Restless. She stayed with the serial from 1997 to 2001 and her work as Megan Dennison earned her two Daytime Emmy nominations.

Three years later Jones returned to CBS daytime but now she starred on The Bold and the Beautiful as Bridget Forrester. She was a contract player until 2013 but since then she has returned on an “as needed” basis with her most recent return happening in 2018.

Jones also guest-starred on ABC’s General Hospital as Parker Forsyth, a bisexual college professor who helped Kristina, a student, come to terms with her sexuality.
