Last night’s Grand Hotel was all about shocking revelations. The secret behind Mama Mendoza’s passing, the true extent of Malcolm’s illness, and the startling evidence that Sky found right before her disappearance.
It’s all out in the open now, and the repercussions are going to be epic. Below are the top five moments we absolutely loved from the latest episode of Grand Hotel entitled Dear Santiago. Find out if our standout moments match your own.
In Sickness and In Health
When Helen (Wendy Raquel Robinson) begins to fear that her husband’s chemotherapy treatments are interfering with his job performance, Malcolm (John Marshall Jones) tells her that he hasn’t received chemo in weeks. Moreover, he won’t be having another round, period. The cancer has spread to his brain and he is now in the final stage of his battle.
Helen decides to take a leave of absence from the hotel so that she and Malcolm can spend his waning days together. But as the couple peruses vacation brochures, Malcolm suddenly displays classic stroke symptoms: trouble speaking, loss of coordination, and numbness in the face.
Javi (Bryan Craig) and Alicia (Denyse Tontz) finally confront Santiago (Demian Bichir) and Gigi (Roselyn Sanchez) and demand answers about Beatriz’s (Eva Longoria) death — and they get them. Beatrice suffered from bi-polar disorder and despite seemingly having the condition under control, she purposefully overdosed on her medication.
And A Lie
Although the truth bonds the family, Gigi continues to hide the fact that on the night she discovered Beatriz’s body, she also found a suicide note and pocketed it after reading its contents.
But what piece of news was written down in the letter that Gigi wanted to keep hidden from everyone including Santiago? Just the fact that Beatriz had taken her own life after learning that the woman Santiago had cheated on her with was Helen and that Jason was the product of their affair.
And the truth about that extramarital dalliance and the resulting bundle of joy would have probably stayed secret if Sky hadn’t somehow gotten her hands on the note. And that’s the damning piece of evidence that Danny (Lincoln Younes) finds when he and Alicia search room 606 for clues.
Evidence of a Crime
When Santiago tried to dismiss him from the hotel, Mateo (Shalim Ortiz) insisted that he was going to stay exactly where he was. And if Santiago had a problem with that, Mateo could always show the cops the security tape he saved from the night that “the girl” went missing.
When Santiago reviewed the blackmail material, he appeared quite surprised to be confronted with the sight of Gigi re-entering the hotel covered in what appeared to be copious amounts of blood!
