The Bold and the Beautiful Casting News: Tanner Novlan Cast as Steffy’s New Love Interest

Except for a manipulated smooch with Liam, Steffy has been living the single life on The Bold and the Beautiful for a while. That’s about to change now that Tanner Novlan has been cast as a potential new love interest for the Forrester heiress.

Tanner Novlan Joins The Bold and the Beautiful

According to BB, Novlan has been cast as Dr. John ‘Finn’ Finnegan. At press time, there was no first air date for the BB newcomer. Novlan is familiar to TV fans as the man playing the actor in the Liberty Mutual commercial in which he (on purpose) can’t seem to get his line down!

The actor is also known for his roles on Roswell, New Mexico and Mohawk Girls. He’s also guested on Modern Family, Parenthood, and Bones. In real life, he’s wed to former BB actress Kayla Ewell (ex-Caitlin). Veteran BB viewers recall the short but sweet love story between Caitlin and Thomas (then, Drew Tyler Bell; now, Matthew Atkinson).

BB was created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell and made its debut on March 23, 1987. The families that were introduced in the debut episode — the Forresters, Logans, and Spencers — remain at the forefront of the program today.

BB’s backdrop is the glamorous world of fashion, but the show is known for telling social issue storylines, addressing such topics as homelessness, alcoholism, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease, and transgender identity. The show’s most enduring love story is the one between Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye).
