Most General Hospital viewers know that Lulu and Maxie are best friends and that their portrayers, Emme Rylan and Kirsten Storms respectively, are BFFs offscreen too, so seeing them interact doing their favorite thing — chatting and using yarn to make things — is everything!

Emme Rylan and Kirsten Storms Miss Each Other

The two besties chatted about yarn ball winders (and demonstrating how it works), men’s skincare (wait until you find out what Rylan bought her significant other!), nails, and just enjoyed seeing each, albeit onscreen, after not being able to get together for so long. If you’re part of a yarn club or just miss your bestie, it will give you warm fuzzies for sure.

While there’s still no clear word when these two will get to reunite on the set, when last we saw new episodes of GH, Storms’ character, Maxie, looked like she suspected she was pregnant. Are they really going that way with the story? Stay tuned to find out.

General Hospital History

GH made its debut on April 1, 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running sudser is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running sudser, GH is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.

The soap exploded into mainstream media in the early 1980s due to the show’s immense popularity. Daytime Emmy winners Genie Francis (Laura) and Anthony Geary (ex-Luke) appeared on the covers of Newsweek and People magazines. Created by Frank and Doris Hursley, the show is currently helmed by executive producer Frank Valentini and is head written by Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor. The Corinthos, Quartermaine, Baldwin, Collins, Jerome, and Ashford families drive stories today in the show’s fictional hamlet, Port Charles.

Bringing the Drama

GH has won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series a record 13 times — more than any other soap opera. The show is one of four remaining daytime dramas currently on the air. The other three are Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). GH airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for air times.
