Finn’s been murdered. Steffy Forrester Finnegan’s in a coma clinging to life. And psycho Sheila Carter is the woman behind both tragedies on The Bold and the Beautiful, having shot and killed her own son, and following that up by shooting his wife.

The Bold and the Beautiful: On A Roll

The stunning twist has made the soap must-see TV. Viewers are on the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens next. Will Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) live or die? How long it will take for Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) to be exposed as the culprit? There are some wonderful aspects to the tragic plot and some not so much. Here are three things we’re loving and three things we’re not.

B&B: Absolutely Loving

1. Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) is the hero on The Bold and the Beautiful. Not only did he find Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Steffy’s bloody bodies, but quickly called for help, surely saving Steffy’s life. Then he phoned Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and broke the tragic news, before racing to tell and comfort Sheila, unaware that she was the shooter, and finally delivering the information to Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang), Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), and Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle).

2. Sheila’s reaction has been psychotic genius. After committing her heinous acts, she left the scene of the crime and covered her tracks. Later, alone in her hotel room, she finally broke down sobbing, realizing she’d killed her own child. Then she had the audacity to show up at the hospital and allow Steffy’s mother, Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen), to offer her comfort.

3. Steffy’s the eyewitness the cops are looking for. She holds the key to everything, having witnessed Sheila’s lethal rage. So when and if she awakens from her coma, she’ll be able to provide the information that will put Sheila behind bars. But it won’t be that simple, right? The writing’s on the wall for Steffy to suffer some kind of amnesia that will intricately draw things out for months.

The Bold and the Beautiful… and Not So Much

1. What repercussions will Finn’s murder have? If the soap’s hoping to ignite another round of Liam ping-ponging between Hope and the newly widowed Steffy, please, no. Been there, done that – incessantly. That’s why it was so nice to see Steffy finally move on with Finn. She deserves a man that’s 100 percent hers. Maybe she could meet another handsome doctor at the hospital.

2. The tragedy has brought Ridge and Taylor (Krista Allen) closer together, leaving Brooke on the outside looking in. It’s sad for Brooke, who so wants to comfort her estranged husband. And, yet again, it’s all happening because of something Sheila has done.

3. Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) needs to forget about his parents reconciling and divulge the secret he’s been keeping immediately. Namely, that Sheila is responsible for Brooke getting drunk on New Year’s Eve, which led to her kiss with Deacon. It’s proof positive that Sheila hasn’t changed at all and is still committing heinous acts. Having Thomas confront Shelia about her possible part in Finn and Steffy’s shooting isn’t enough. He needs to be smart and reveal all to Ridge and the cops. His family’s life literally depends on it.
