Soap Star News: Daytimers React To The Death Of Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Friday evening, shockwaves were felt across the United States and beyond when the news broke that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg had died of complications from pancreatic cancer. As tributes came pouring in on social media, soap stars also began to share their gratitude for all she had accomplished over her long and storied career.

Soap Stars Mourn A Legend

Many actors took to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to post their tributes to Ginsburg, who died at the age of 87. While how the country should move forward has people arguing on both sides of the aisle, one thing is certain — she was a beloved role model who influenced so many of our favorite actors.

General Hospital star Nancy Lee Grahn, who has played two lawyers during her time on soaps — currently as Alexis and in the past as Julia Wainwright on Santa Barbara, posted her tribute on Facebook. “My daughter and I are heartbroken at the passing of our hero, Ruth Bader Ginsburg,” she began. “There is no other woman in my lifetime that I hold in greater esteem. Justice Ginsburg left this earth on the high holy holiday of Rosh Hashanah. According to Jewish tradition, a person who dies on Rosh Hashanah, which began last night, is a tzaddik, a person of great righteousness.”

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Scott Clifton (Liam) said on Twitter, “Still reeling from yesterday’s incomprehensible loss. I wish I had something useful to say, but I’m so sad and scared I can barely see straight. We can’t even mourn her the way we deserve to, because there’s a freight train from Kentucky headed right toward the funeral.”

“Like all of us, the news of the passing of #RBG broke me,” revealed Days of our Lives star Linsey Godfrey (Sarah) on Twitter. “I send my deepest condolences to her family and friends. Ledy and I spoke about all the incredible things Ruth Bader Ginsburg did for women, how we wouldn’t be here now without her & how now we must keep up her fight. #RIPRGB”

The Young and the Restless star Greg Rikaart (Kevin) posted a picture of her as Queen to Instagram saying, “Fight for what is right the way RBG fought. 💔”

Haley Pullos, whose General Hospital law student character, Molly, dressed as Ruth Bader Ginsburg for Halloween, said on Twitter, “Thank you for everything you were and everything you stood for. From both molly and myself, rest in peace.”

“Devastated!!! I have no words💔💔💔” shared BB’s Rena Sofer (Quinn). “Rest in glorious peace RBG!! You did such great work for us all!!! You will be beyond missed!!”
