Soap Opera Casting For The Week Of February 21, 2022
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.
Days of our Lives
A trio of returns at Days of our Lives. Lamon Archey, whose character, Eli Grant, has been off visiting his mother, finally resurfaces in Salem on Wednesday, February 23.
Meanwhile, Matthew Ashford is back on the scene as Jack Deveraux on Tuesday, February 22, in confrontational scenes opposite Emily O’Brien’s Gwen Rizczech, and James Read pops in for another soap opera storyline arc as Clyde Weston on Monday, February 21, when the character welcomes his new prison cellmate, Dan Feuerriegel’s EJ DiMera.
On the exit front, during a guest appearance on the Apple podcast, Not Too Deep with Grace Helbig, Victoria Konefal revealed that she might be taking some time off from her role as Ciara Brady Weston, again. The actress is mulling over appearing in a movie that a friend is producing. However, nothing is official, yet.
General Hospital
Over at General Hospital, Helena Mattsson has temporarily stepped into the role of Sasha Gilmore for a couple of episodes. She’s replacing her real-life sister, Sofia Mattsson, who needed to take some time off from the soap opera. The actress’ credits include The Rookie, Mistresses, and American Horror Story.
Real Andrews announced that he’s back at work taping scenes as Marcus Taggert via his Instagram account. Trina Robinson’s (Sydney Mikayla) dad made his last appearance on the soap last week, albeit portrayed by Asante Jones.
The two new WSB authorities are set to turn up in Switzerland to help Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) track down Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). Josh Adamson and Kristina Kele appear as Agent Krieger and Agent Muller, respectively, this week.
Kate Orsini is playing Rebecca Diamond, Carly Corinthos’s (Laura Wright) divorce lawyer. Meanwhile, David Lautman appeared as Smoltz on February 15, the freelance writer who pitched a story to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) about the upcoming Corinthos divorce.
David Rees Snell begins a run as Malcolm, Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) divorce attorney this week. The actor’s credits include the primetime hits The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, and S.W.A.T.
The Young and the Restless
After a long break from the soap opera, Jess Walton is finally heading back to The Young and the Restless as Jill Abbott. Look for the popular vet to quickly get into the mix of things with her number one son, Jason Thompson’s Billy Abbott.
Beth Maitland returns as Traci Abbott this week, too. The character gives someone a stern warning on Tuesday, February 22
Leigh-Ann Rose pops back in as Imani on Friday, February 25. She’ll share scenes with her TV sister Mishael Morgan, who portrays Amanda.
