- How Bikini Bar fits into the story.
Bikini Bar Turns Up the Heat on Bold and the Beautiful
The grand reopening had its fair share of tense moments. None more blatant than Will’s cheap shot at R.J., that’s left him with bruised ribs. But the thin line between good times and bad ideas is what the resurrected Tiki Bar is here for. The locale is exactly what the soapy summer needs. Be prepared for B&B’s next gen to heat up the scene with love renewed and hearts broken.
Deacon’s (Sean Kanan) new investment brought the party to Memorial Day for B&B fans. Packed to the brim with young people having fun and dancing to the music, it switched things up on the boardroom-heavy soap. But the reopening also came with a surprise clash that could have serious consequences.
Electra (Laneya Grace) was hopeful that she, R.J. (Brayan Nicoletti), Will (Crew Morrow), and Dylan (Sydney Bullock) could all put the past behind them. Tiki Bar’s reopening was the opportunity to test the waters of friendship. With drinks to try and tacos to sample, it was a low-stakes venue to bury the hatchet.
For her and Will, the night proved fruitful as they rekindled their romance. But what turned out to be a good night for her wound up being an awful one for R.J. It wasn’t just the fact that he and Dylan bore witness to the couple getting back together. In his attempt to get Electra to change her mind, R.J. found himself not only rejected but also on Will’s bad side.
The Spencer heir saw R.J. touch Electra’s arm. While the touch wasn’t intimate, he still took the opening to sucker punch his cousin when Electra wasn’t around. Dylan spotted the unprovoked attack and alerted Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) to what happened.
This was the first time Dylan had seen Will’s aggressive side and mean streak. She clearly didn’t like what happened, and neither did Steffy. With Will responsible for hurting her brother, the co-CEO might make a personal conflict Forrester’s business.
Deacon’s New Club Could Attract Trouble in Paradise
R.J.’s altercation with Will wasn’t the only tense interaction at Bikini Bar. Steffy congratulated Deacon on his success, but couldn’t extend the same sentiment to his relationship with Taylor (Rebecca Budig). She’s still not a fan of her mom’s new romance, though it has less to do with the man and more to do with Sheila (Kimberlin Brown).
Deacon’s update on the status of his marriage didn’t help matters. He’s still not divorced. Sheila won’t sign the papers because she still loves him, and this transition has been difficult for her. While Taylor seemed unbothered by the slow pace of Deacon’s untangling from his wife, Steffy was plenty bothered for the both of them.
She didn’t like the sound of Sheila having a roommate, and she’s still concerned Sheila’s a danger. Deacon is convinced that she isn’t. He argued that if Sheila was going to hurt either him or Taylor, she would have done so when she found out about the affair. But what Deacon’s overlooking is that much of his business success has been shared with Sheila.
Sheila was with him every step of the way with Il Giardino. The likelihood of her staying away from Bikini Bar is low. She also hasn’t given up on her marriage, though Deacon remains oblivious to that fact. Taylor said that Deacon thrives in chaos. She was referring to the rigors of running a club, but the same is true in his personal life.
Deacon’s most chaotic relationship is with Sheila. While they’re no longer romantically involved, they’re not out of each other’s lives. It’s possible they won’t be at all if Sheila tries to keep Deacon close by pushing to continue working together. So, for as loved up as Deacon and Taylor were during the opening, Bikini Bar may not remain a place that’s as good for them as it is for everybody else.
B&B’s Next Gen Summer Hangout
What makes the bar’s return so great is that it finally gives the next-gen characters a place to relax, unwind, and make poor decisions. For the most part, their trouble happens in the workplace. Now it can be brought into a hangout spot. Yes, Dylan works at Bikini Bar, and likely Deke (Harrison Cone) will too, but it’s a different environment.
This club has a more laid-back vibe. The characters aren’t rocking professional looks and won’t be having life-changing conversations while surrounded by mannequins and garments.
Most of the younger characters don’t have on-screen homes of their own, so Bikini Bar will be the sole location they have outside of work. It’s vibrant, youthful, and the perfect place for them to find love and break hearts over the summer.
