The Bold and the Beautiful recaps for May 8 – May 12, 2023, featured a potential self-fulfilling prophecy.
Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) rains down condemnation on Hope (Annika Noelle). The cruelest cut of all? Her pointedly wondering whether Hope was turning into her mother. Hope insists that Steffy is reading much too much into her and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) holding hands.
Taylor (Krista Allen) implores Liam (Scott Clifton) to have some faith where Thomas is concerned…Thomas debates whether or not Hope was giving him a rather mixed signal. He forgoes discussing matters with Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and instead revels in Hope For The Future’s latest success.
With Steffy not acting herself, Finn (Tanner Novlan) intuits that something is amiss at Forrester Creations and with Hope and Thomas specifically. Steffy dances around the issue and begs off getting into details…Hope arranges a night of romance for her and Liam…RJ (Joshua Hoffman) and Thomas bond like brothers should.
Taylor checks in on — and praises — Thomas…Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and Liam besmirch Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and her character while bigging up Hope…Hope (Annika Noelle) goes to great pains to convince Steffy — and herself — that she doesn’t have feelings for Thomas.
Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) conscripts Hope and Thomas into schmoozing a pair of influential foreign buyers on a shopping spree in San Francisco. Despite himself, Liam doesn’t voice an objection. Steffy also keeps mum in spite of her growing concern that something untoward is developing between Hope and Thomas.
Hope and Thomas’s meeting with the international buyers is a qualified success…Mechanical issues ground the Forrester jet…Steffy and Liam bristle at the thought of Hope and Thomas being together in SanFran…Hope and Thomas take dinner together and the former grouses about the hardships that come from being Brooke’s daughter. Thomas offers her comfort and soon the two are gazing longingly into one another’s eyes.
