In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for September 5, 2023, a new do resulted in RJ Forrester adopting a new ‘tude and getting all up in Hope’s business.
In addition, Liam thoroughly explained himself to Ridge, and Finn found himself stuck in the middle between a rock and a crazy place. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
At Forrester Creations, RJ (Joshua Hoffman) poured over Thomas’s (Matthew Atkinson) latest designs and heaped copious amounts of praise onto them. Is there nothing that man and Hope (Annika Noelle) couldn’t accomplish together? Hope didn’t seem to think so.
Finally putting the sketch aside, RJ wondered if Eric (John McCook) had been shown the creation. You know, just to get his two cents. He hadn’t. And Hope wasn’t exactly sure where her baby brother was going with things.

RJ grumbled and wondered if Hope and everyone else at the company only see Eric as a figurehead and Hope, in turn, insisted that wasn’t the case…but eventually all companies do have to evolve and grow. “With you and Thomas leading the way” spit out RJ.
Hope demanded to know what, exactly RJ was implying, and he groused that he just didn’t think that Eric, as founder of FC, should be forgotten about. Having thus given lip service to his grandfather’s travails, it was then time for RJ to turn the conversation to Hope and Thomas and Liam (Scott Clifton). What’s up with that?
That question necessitated Hope explaining how she’d stooped to asking Liam for a second chance and how he’d passed on giving it.
During the course of Hope’s confession, RJ finally got it through his thick skull that Liam wouldn’t ever be able to forgive Hope for turning to Thomas of all people. Luckily for Hope, RJ believed that she could strike out on her own and accomplish everything her heart desires.
And if she has to have a man, RJ bid her look inside herself and ask some really tough questions. Questions like, between Liam and Thomas, who’s the one who builds her up and supports and puts her first? No contest, really.
Meanwhile, at Spencer Publications, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) put Liam on the spot, resulting in Liam insisting that his desire to protect Steffy is not born of some plot to undermine her marriage. He does love her though, and that love is motivating him to push Steffy to do what he thinks is best.
To dissuade his former son-in-law, Ridge relayed a story from Steffy’s childhood in which she stubbornly leaped from a cliff to prove a point. Perhaps if Ridge hadn’t challenged her, she wouldn’t have jumped. (He was never great at parenting, anyhow.) From that incident, he learned that one cannot push Steffy into doing something that she doesn’t want to do. That will only make the situation worse.
His sexy time with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was well and truly ruined by his mother’s skulking about outside, Finn (Tanner Novlan) seized Sheila (Kimberlin Bronw) and drug her inside his and Steffy’s abode so that the three could hash it out.
Sheila granted that she’s made a mistake or two — and as for regrets, she has a few. But she insisted that she wasn’t evil. She’d saved Kelly from drowning after all. Unfortunately, that didn’t win her any brownie points as far as Steffy was concerned. She ordered Finn to throw his maniacal mama out on her ear, but Sheila floated the idea of him forgiving her and forgetting what she’d done.
