In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for September 20, 2023, Hope interrupted her dad’s thwarted attempt to finally say no to his live-in lover.

In addition, Douglas’s kudos made Thomas’s heart swell with pride, and Li did everything but flat order Finn to off Sheila. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
B&B Recap: Seriously Bad Timing
Despite his best efforts, Deacon (Sean Kanan) couldn’t get Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) to pick up what he was putting down, namely, his desire for her to vacate his abode and get the Hell out of Dodge.
Instead, Sheila playfully teased and seduced Deacon over to the nearby couch, where they eventually pulled apart in order to have a very serious conversation. Deacon expressed concern that should his and Sheila’s continued dalliance come to light, he’d lose his daughter — and for good this time.

Sheila, for her part, sincerely thanked Deacon for putting her up and putting up with her, then glossed over his concerns and launched into a diatribe about how, with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) gone, nothing should be standing in the way of her reuniting with Finn (Tanner Novlan).
Deacon countered that there was still the whole double shooting incident — whether Sheila wanted to term it accidentally or not. He also floated the idea that his gal pal should actually start listening to what her son was saying. Listen and hear. Furthermore, Deacon pointed out that Finn will always choose his family first. Every. Single. Time!
Sheila insisted that Finn loves HER. She could see that love every time she looked into his eyes. And she loved him in a way that Steffy clearly didn’t and never could.

No sooner had the conversation circled back to Deacon and his daughter and his fear that his carrying on with Sheila would put an end to that closeness than Hope (Annika Noelle) knocked on the door and began the process of casually letting herself inside like a child normally would.
The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Father’s Daze
Just before her trip to her dad’s place, Hope was happy to see Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) share a special moment — one where the father expressed how appreciative he was that his son was able to forgive him his past and see that he’d changed for the better. Still, she could have lived without the little boy trying to pressure her into starting a romance with his dad.

Meanwhile, Li (Naomi Matsuda) visited Finn, ostensibly to check up on him in the wake of Steffy and the children leaving. In reality, she was there to twist the knife by reminding Finn that it was his fault that he and his wife were estranged. After all, he’d opened the door to Sheila and gave her hope that a reunion was possible.
Li also expressed her devastation that Finn had let Sheila in and seemingly turned his back on her, the woman who raised him and gave him love his entire life. And though Finn did everything in his power to assure Li that she was his mother in every way that counted, it was clear that the hurt ran deep.
In fact, the only thing more obvious was Li’s hatred for Sheila. But Mama had a solution to the problem. Finn needed to make moves to prove to Steffy beyond a shadow of a doubt that she’d never have to worry about Sheila ever again. She wasn’t saying that Finn should kill Sheila, but she was saying that she was disappointed he didn’t rise to the occasion and let Sheila die in the hospital.
