The B&B recap for Thursday, December 1, 2022, finds Brooke Logan, after all these years, suddenly, inexplicably growing a backbone.
In this episode, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) put Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) in a bit of a spot, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) got well and truly on Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) nerves, and Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) having a major difference of opinion. Now, let’s take a deeper look into what went on.
Brooke isn’t pleased with Ridge. Here she’s spent all her time post-annulment alone, heartbroken, desperately clinging to the fantasy that her ex would one day wise up and return to her, and wondering exactly when and exactly why things went so very wrong between them — and now Ridge is standing before her saying that it’s all down to Thomas…and his own inability to believe in her.
But he is sorry. He’s very, very sorry. So, so sorry. Sorrier than Brooke will ever know. It’s just…damn that son of his! He was so crafty! How was Ridge to know that the Child Protective Services call was doctored? Did he mention that he was so very, super duper sorry?
He had, and Brooke assured him that she appreciated it, and appreciated him updating her, but that’s where her appreciation ends. Having been fully apprised, she’s no longer exactly enamored of the man she once called her husband.

And sure, she’s always going to love him. She’ll treasure the memories of him, and the idea of him — but she’s no longer willing to play games with him. No longer will she play second fiddle to the likes of Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen). No longer will she allow Ridge’s children to dictate her life.
If Ridge wants to be with her, then so be it. She will take him back. But he had better be damn sure this time, and he’d better divest himself of all that excess baggage of his because she wasn’t going to put up with it any longer.
She is Brooke Freakin’ Logan, and she KNOWS that she deserves better. If she can’t have all of Ridge, then she doesn’t want any of him. In point of fact, she’d rather be alone with herself — she likes herself. She loves herself. Brooke Freakin’ Logan is pretty darn cool, and Brooke Freakin’ Logan is all she really needs. A man who loves her unconditionally would be a bonus.
It’s not exactly an earth-shattering declaration. Jeannie Garth’s alter ego did all that way back when on Beverly Hills 90210. The concept has grown into a pretty stagnate cliche, or TV Trope, if you will. However, this is MAJOR progress for Brooke.
Someone decidedly not progressing is Thomas. Instead, he’s fallen back into old, bad habits, and it could cost him dearly, though Taylor swears that Ridge wouldn’t actually kick him out of the family company…or the family for that matter…or so she hopes. He did leave the Forrester manse pretty steamed up.
Bill has been having a no good, very bad…well, past few months. It’s been so bad as to concern the bartender at Il Giardino, not that it kept him from serving Bill several doubles of whatever top-shelf spirit he sets his heart on. Deacon isn’t so charitable.
He wasted no time in making comments about and reveling in “Dollar Bill’s” down-and-out deportment and Bill did not seem poised to thank him for that. Not in the least.
As far as Thomas is concerned, he and Taylor are both injured parties and Steffy is the injurer. How could his sister have ratted him out to their dad like that? Wasn’t it she who was leading the anti-Brooke charge? What’s with the sudden change of heart? What’s with the need for truth? Steffy’s response, in a nutshell: You’re a sick twisted puppy bro and you need help!
