It’s the eve of Krista Allen’s debut as Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful. The actress is anticipating being back on the airwaves just as much as B&B viewers are!

Krista Allen Previews Taylor’s Return

“This is gonna be a fun one!” Allen tweeted about coming back to soaps. “Very excited to step into this iconic role and be back on Daytime after 25 years! … Omg T-W-E-N-T-Y F-I-V-E years?”

In 1996, Allen made her daytime debut as Shelley, a waitress at Bikini, who cozied up to Sly (Brent Jasmer). He was trying to make ex-flame Macy Alexander (Bobbie Eakes) jealous. Allen’s tenure on the half-hour CBS soap didn’t last too long. She was quickly scooped up by Days of our Lives to take on the role of Billie Reed that had been vacated by originator Lisa Rinna (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills).

Now, Allen’s taking over another iconic role — B&B’s Taylor, played on and off by Hunter Tylo since 1990. As indicated in her posts, Allen is well aware that she’s stepping into a fan favorite role with reverence and respect for Taylor’s legacy. “I feel like I’m about to be introduced to my fiancé’s mom for the very first time – but she’s made it very clear that his ex is the only one for him,” Allen playfully tweeted.

The Best Is Yet To Come

“I’m as excited to read the scripts everyday as y’all are to tune in! I’m hooked!” Allen added in another tweet. It’s clear by reading Allen’s social media feed that she’s well up on B&B history. As viewers recall, the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor triangle fueled B&B’s story machine for years and years.

While Brooke emerged as Ridge’s true love…there’s still a large contingent of Taylor/Ridge fans. Given that Deacon (Sean Kanan) is back in town and has added conflict to Ridge and Brooke’s marriage, it’s possible that their dynamic will be exacerbated further by Taylor’s arrival.
