Ridge Forrester and Brooke Logan Forrester breaking up is not only going to affect their personal lives, but the split may also ripple into the family business — Forrester Creations. Brooke being on the outs with Ridge has resulted in big changes at the House of Forrester before, after all.
The Forresters and the Logan clans are often at odds, but they (mostly) are on the same page when it comes to Forrester Creations. Nearly half of the show’s characters have company I.D. badges. Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), Eric Forrester (John McCook), Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), and Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) work alongside Katie Logan (Heather Tom), Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), and Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle).
As each of these people is likely going to take either Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) or Ridge’s side, Forrester Creations may soon become a very hostile workplace. Let’s not forget what happened at Forrester the first time Brooke was in a position to take her hurt feelings out on the Forresters — she used the BeLieF patent to take over the company.
Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke’s divorce could result in her gaining some of his interest in Forrester Creations. While it probably wouldn’t be enough to take over the company, Brooke could gain just enough power to make Steffy and Thomas’s lives miserable.
Brooke has some powerful allies in the business world. Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) is already consoling Brooke over her breakup. How might the coverage Forrester Creations gets from Bill’s media empire be affected?
We could see Donna and Brooke being in conflict over Forrester; Donna will want to support her sister but would she really let her beloved Eric’s family business be affected adversely by Brooke’s hurt feelings? Also, Katie is loyal to her family but she also has a good head for business. As she has Will to raise, would it be wise for her to give up a lucrative position at the company?
The smartest move Brooke could make would be to use her resources and establish a rival fashion house to give Forrester a run for their money. She could take Hope and her design skills and Katie and her marketing/public relations savviness and start up her own line. There hasn’t been a rival fashion house on B&B in a while.
There’s not much to celebrate about Ridge and Brooke breaking up — well, unless you’re Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen), of course! However, once Brooke composes herself, she may throw herself into the fashion world to soothe her pain. The battle for BeLieF is arguably the best business story that ever took place in soaps. It’s certainly one of B&B’s most memorable tales.
