B&B’s Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Needs A Big Storyline ASAP

Jacqueline MacInnes Wood has always infused her character Steffy with a bold duty to family and beautiful looks. The Bold and the Beautiful star has emerged as one of the show’s top leading ladies. While her character has a handsome husband, two beautiful children, and a great career, there is one thing she’s missing.

And what is that? Steffy needs a storyline — sooner rather than later! We see her regularly on our screens, so it’s not a question of air time. But lately, Steffy’s shifted into more of a supporting role. We’ve seen Steffy respond to and even encourage Brooke’s relationship with her mother, Taylor (Krista Allen). Wood plays Steffy as a bit incredulous (aren’t we all?) over the unlikely relationship, but she supports it. We’ve also witnessed Steffy showing support to her doctor husband Finn (Tanner Novlan).

Wood has been delivering for years on B&B. She’s won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series twice — in 2019 and in 2021. Her first statuette came for her scenes that dealt with Steffy and Liam’s (Scott Clifton) marriage breaking up. Her second came for her work in the opioid addiction storyline.

So, let’s see Steffy back where she belongs — at the forefront of the action. Here are a few ways to make that happen. For starters, Steffy could step in and put a stop to her brother Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) from returning to Forrester. Think of the conflict! Steffy will always love her brother, but she needs to put the good of the company first.

What about Finn helping generate a story for Steffy? Surely, a good-looking doctor like Finn has had some girlfriends in his past. What if one of them were to re-enter his life and eagerly attempt to steal him away from his family? It’d be fun watching Steffy go into action and make this woman sorry she ever resurfaced in Finn’s life.

There’s also the lingering potential issue of Kelly’s paternity. Bill (Don Diamont) just happened to be at the hospital when Steffy went there for a visit related to the child’s paternity. Some speculate that Bill felt guilty about sleeping with his son’s wife (they were on a break!), and he rigged the tests in an attempt to keep them together.

The Bill we know today doesn’t seem too interested in keeping the peace. Steffy and Liam have the power to keep Kelly away from their grandfather, but if Bill proved to be the actual dad? That would throw Steffy into conflict with not only her ex-lover but also his current romantic interest — Sheila!
