Critic’s Review of Bold and the Beautiful for March 7 – March 11, 2022
When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.
I am not a Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) fan. This fact we’ve established. However, Brooke and I always agreed on one very salient point: Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) was way too interested in Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) sex life.
The Bold and the Beautiful is still full of parents overly concerned about their kids’ sex lives – Brooke, the irony of ironies, is one of them – and Dr. Grace Buckingham (Cassandra Creech) is the most egregious example.
The way that woman tried to hustle a half-naked Paris Buckingham (Diamond White) out of Carter Walton’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) apartment, you’d have thought Grace was the girl’s pimp and that Paris had been making unsanctioned house calls and pocketing the cash rather than forking over.
I watched the whole exchange vacillating between fits of laughter at the absurdity of it all and shaking my head at the thought that this is the type of material produced by the world’s most popular soap opera. How is it that The Bold and the Beautiful isn’t a complete laughingstock?
Equally disconcerting is a new phenomenon that has infiltrated B&B as of late: kids overly concerned about their parents’ sex lives. Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) practically ordered Ridge to go upstairs and mate with Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen), and she and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) get way to giddy every time they do catch Ridge and Taylor in a romantic clinch. Eww. Just eww.
* Turns out that Paris isn’t so perfect after all. When presented with the opportunity to let Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz) down gently, what did she do? She chose to dance around the subject and be as vague as possible. Perhaps she and Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) are more alike than either would care to admit.
