When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.
On the one hand, I didn’t much mind Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers). On the other, once Brooke friend-zoned the friendly server and set about giggling, bouncing, and crying with Taylor (Krista Allen), all I could think was KISS, KISS, KISS!
If there is one storyline on The Bold and the Beautiful that I’m actually interested in, it is this sapphic love story that isn’t, and I don’t think that Lang and Allen could make it any clearer that they’re leaning into “Braylor” HARD…probably because of the inherent acting challenge such a story would pose. It would surely beat Brooke vs. Taylor for Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) affections round 505.
But fear not all you pearl clutchers, I don’t foresee B&B actually going there. If anything, the blatant teases will continue for a few more weeks and then the unimaginative status quo will resume.
* Oh great, thought I, when Hope (Annika Noelle) decided to take exception to her mother’s date — something else for her to stomp around and pout about.
* So, does Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) exist solely to praise Finn (Tanner Novlan) and excoriate Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson)? Is there really no other purpose for her?
* Under no circumstances would Bill (Don Diamont) have casually stepped aside to take a work call after Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) admitted to him that she had someone other than him on her mind. Especially if it was Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan). What was that about?
Also, how exactly does Bill expect to force Finn’s and Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) hands where rapprochement with Sheila is concerned?
Given that everyone on the canvas, save for perhaps Eric (John McCook), Donna (Jennifer Gareis), Wyatt (Darin Brooks), and the wee ones — even Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) is privy to the big picture if not the exacting details — is wise to the goings on, I don’t see blackmail working this time. No way any of those interested parties let him get away with it.
* Whose bright idea was it to end Tuesday’s episode with an ill-advised, impromptu mediation session between Thomas and Steffy and then fail to pick up the thread the following day?
