Who’s coming and who’s going from the soap opera casts of The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless?
Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.
The role of Molly Lansing-Davis has been recast yet again at General Hospital. Brooke Anne Smith, who began airing on the soap opera last week, has replaced Holiday Mia Kriegel as Alexis Davis’s (Nancy Lee Grahn) daughter. The actress’s credits include Tyler Perry’s Too Close To Home, where she played Shelby Hayes for two seasons. She also recurred as Angelique Welch on MTV’s Awkward. Kriegel began playing Molly in May, after Haley Pullos, who had portrayed the character since 2009, was involved in a freeway collision. Pullos was subsequently charged with two felony counts and one misdemeanor count of hit-and-run.
Ella Lentini has joined the cast as Betty Rutherford. The character is Avery Jerome-Corinthos’s creepy new nanny.
Brad Schmidt is back on the scene as Pentonville inmate, Book. He originally aired in the role last year. His GH history also includes a gig filling in for Johnny Wactor as Brando Corbin in 2022.
Daytime vet Michael Corbett has been cast as Evan Scott, the judge presiding over the case against Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) on The Bold and the Beautiful. He airs again this week, beginning on Monday, July 24. Corbett is remembered for a trio of soap opera roles, including David Kimble on The Young and the Restless, Michael Pavel on Ryan’s Hope, and Warren Carter on Search for Tomorrow.
Scott Hamm and Akeem Mair get more airtime during Sheila’s trial, too. They portray the bailiff and prison guard, respectively.
Ken Hanes returns as inmate Mike Guthrie Monday, July 24. The character airs in scenes opposite Sheila.
Naomi Matsuda is back as Li Finnegan, Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) mother. She’s slated to appear on Thursday, July 27.
Sophia Paras McKinlay pops in as Kelly Spencer, Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) daughter. The child actress airs on Friday, July 28.
Samantha Cutaran portrays Nurse R. Rose. The RN is on duty on Friday, July 28.
A major character is returning to Days of our Lives, the presumed dead Philip Kiriakis. Actor John-Paul Lavoisier, who played the character from 2015 to 2016, will reprise the role next month. Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Victor’s (John Aniston) son, previously portrayed by Jay Kenneth Johnson, last aired in 2021. He was secretly sent off for mental treatment, after attempting to frame Brady (Eric Martsolf) for his murder.
Lisagaye Tomlinson appears as Dr. Sorenson on Tuesday, July 25. The character is a baby specialist, who will meet with expectant parents, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker). This is not Tomlinson’s first stint on daytime nor as a daytime doc. She appeared as Dr. Harris on General Hospital for two episodes in 2020.
Jess Walton is heading back to The Young and the Restless. The actress, who recurs as Jill Abbott, is set to air on Wednesday, July 26. Word is the character will contact Eric Braeden’s Victor Newman.
