Soap Opera Casting For The Week of December 11, 2023

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.

Days of our Lives

A beloved Horton resurfaces this week. Bryan Dattilo airs as Lucas Horton on Monday, December 11. He’ll turn up in Statesville prison and interact with Peter Porte’s Dimitri Von Leuschner, his new inmate.

It looks like the next time viewers see Chad’s (Billy Flynn) son, Thomas DiMera, Daytime Emmy nominee Cary Christopher won’t be playing him. Henry Witcher is stepping into the role later this month. There’s no word whether the recast is permanent or temporary.

Jackie Cox completed his visit as Darius Rose Cooper. The character left Salem after offering to help Dimitri flee to Canada.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Forrester family members are back in full force as they sit at the dying Eric’s (John McCook) bedside. Ashley Jones reappears as his daughter, Dr. Bridget Forrester, on Monday, December 11, Thursday, December 14, and Friday, December 15.

Winsor Harmon is back as Eric’s son, Thorne Forrester, too. He airs on Monday, December 11, Thursday, December 14, and Friday, December 15.

Tending to the gravely ill Eric will be two medical professionals. Ruben Grundy plays his doctor, while Adela Paez portrays his nurse, Clarissa, on Friday, December 15.

General Hospital

A couple of kids get more airtime this week, starting with Jophielle Love, who reappears as Violet Finn on Monday, December 11. She shares scenes with her onscreen uncle, Josh Swickard’s Chase.

Scarlett Spears is back as Donna Corinthos too. She’ll interact with Laura Wright, who plays her mom, Carly Spencer, on Wednesday, December 13.

Charles Mesure makes another appearance as Mr. Brennan, the apparent head of Pikeman Security Group, on Wednesday, December 13. He began a recurring stint on the soap earlier this month. Mesure’s credits include the roles of Kyle Hobbes on V,  J.D. Pollack on Crossing Jordan,  and Ben Faulkner on Desperate Housewives.

Mark Engelhardt has been getting more airtime as Roman Hume. The Pikeman rep has been reporting to the above-mentioned Brennan.

Kathleen Gati resurfaces as Liesl Obrecht on Tuesday, December 12. She’ll have scenes with Kin Shriner’s Scott Baldwin.

Joshua Benard pops in as Adam Wright on Wednesday, December 13, in scenes where Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Trina (Tabyana Ali) make a discovery.

That was Cheryl Francis Harrington portraying Irene Ashford, last week. The character is Curtis’ (Donnell Turner) late mother and Marshall’s (Robert Gossett) late wife.

The Young and the Restless

A pair of adversaries are back with a vengeance! Jess Walton and Veronica Redd, who portray the long-feuding Jill Abbott and Mamie Johnson, interact in fiery scenes airing Tuesday, December 12.

J. Eddie Peck returns as Cole Howard on Wednesday, December 13. He’ll have scenes with Amelia Heinle’s Victoria as the pair vow to uncover the truth about Claire (Hayley Erin).
