Soap Opera Comings And Goings: Bad Boy Returns, Rock Star Exits & A New Face

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.

Days of our Lives

Fan favorite Bryan Dattilo returns for another story arc as Lucas Horton, now an inmate at Statesville prison. Look for Dattilo to share scenes with George DelHoyo, who makes another appearance on the soap opera as Orpheus, on Monday, January 9. 

Kyle Lowder is back for more hospital duty as Rex Brady. He’ll be front and center this week,  as the three poisoned women, Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall), Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow), take a turn for the worse.  

The Bold and the Beautiful

It’s daytime alum week on The Bold and the Beautiful. With the incarcerated Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) about to face court proceedings Joe Lando (ex-Jake Harrison, One Life to Live) is reprising his role as Judge Craig McMullen. He makes his first appearance on Monday, January 9. Lando last played the character in 2018.

In addition, Rodney Van Johnson, who played T.C. Russell on Passions, will be involved in the legal action, too. He’s been cast as Sheila’s attorney and will premiere on Monday, January 9.

Ken Hanes is back on the soap opera as Mike Guthrie, too. He’ll air on Wednesday, January 11.

General Hospital

Kendrick Cross, best known for his role as Titus Hughes on Ambitions, popped up on General Hospital as Detective Bennett, a new cop on the PCPD has been playing  The actor’s other credits include Stranger Things, The Wonder Years, and Queen Sugar.

The Young and the Restless

Michael Damian’s short stint back to The Young and the Restless as rock star Danny Romalotti has come to an end. The actor returned for a few episodes beginning December 22 and reunited with Lauralee Bell, who plays his ex-wife Christine Williams. Word is the door has been left open for Damian to return.


B&B is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR). The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
