As Eric Forrester, John McCook plays the top gun at Forrester Creations and has since The Bold and the Beautiful premiered in 1987. However, most of his storylines have been in the bedroom over the boardroom. His first union to Stephanie suffered from malaise and his current union to Quinn Fuller Forrester is facing its own crisis.
In a story that has many people talking on social media, Eric shocked many after he took his wife Quinn (Rena Sofer) back after he learned she had been sleeping with Forrester Creations COO Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor). He surprised Quinn even further after he gave Quinn permission to continue her affair (!) with Carter as he, Eric, is suffering from erectile dysfunction.
Viewers are speculating that Eric is testing his wife but if that’s the case, Quinn has failed as she and Carter recently hit the sheets once more — with Eric’s blessing. What twist is this tale going to take next? McCook is speaking out on the storyline via his Instagram account. Read on to hear what he has to say.
“Hi everybody,” McCook began his talk with his followers and fans of the show. “I wanted to say hi from my dressing room.” The actor’s aware that viewers have lots of opinions on his current story. “Here we are watching B&B and [there’s] a pretty complicated story going on right now, I understand that.
“I want to thank you for watching,” McCook added. “I know there are a lot of different reactions and opinions to what’s going on here right now. The important thing is you’re watching and are engaged in this story. Eric Forrester is my friend. That’s how I think of him. He’s not me — but he’s my friend.
“I’ve seen him through a lot of different evolutions; his happiness, his sadness…watching him make good decisions and bad decisions,” McCook shares. “But as far as this one goes, there will be resolution one of these days.” No matter how this tale plays out, the B&B original cast member says, “The best thing about it is that you’re here with me. So, hang in there. Love you for watching…stay there with us. It’s a good story. Take care.”
People are weighing in on McCook’s page as to how this might play out. “I think Donna is going to go over there and cure Eric,” predicts @sherriehuante. “I think that would be a good storyline.” Check out McCook’s video below.
