On The Bold and the Beautiful, everybody’s got an opinion…especially where their favorite daytime drama is concerned – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of L.A.’s week that was.
Vinny (Joe LoCicero) most definitely tampered with that paternity test – that much is painfully clear. What isn’t so clear, however, is his reason(s) for doing so. Sure, it can be argued that he didn’t it to bolster Thomas’ (Matthew Atkinson) chances of getting with Hope (Annika Noelle)…but it just feels like there’s more to the story.
Especially in light of his recently revealed Finn (Tanner Novlan) hate. Soap Hub has postured that perhaps the men are long-lost brothers and that Vinny is the only one in the know. That’s a story that would certainly go a long way in filling in some of his and Finn’s background details. Vinny and Finn are both practically clean slates, so the idea has merit.
But whether or not that’s the direction B&B will decide to go in remains to be seen. What is certain is that this new one-sided rivalry has a lot of potentials to become one of the soap’s new stories.
* The Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie (Heather Tom) story continues to be a non-factor. There isn’t any inherent drama – because we know that Katie’s going to take Bill back when all is said and done – and Bill has still yet to prove that he’s evolved from the man who’s hurt Katie time and time again and used the exact same lines to worm his way back into her heart.
There’s no denying the fact that on their own, Diamont and Tom are fire, and when paired together they are red hot. But this plot needs some oomph…which we know the writers can give us. We’ve got the faith, so please reward us!
* With Flo (Katrina Bowden) and Wyatt (Darin Brooks) suddenly front and center once again, is it time to start worrying that Flo’s outing of Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) crimes to Summer Newman (Hunter King) – you know, the whole reason for the latest B&B/Y&R crossover event – will suddenly come to light and put paid the couple’s romance?
Surely that’s where the story is headed. After all, they seem to be in such a good place where their relationship is concerned, at there’s an old adage that says couples on soaps can never, ever be happy for long stretches of time.
* It seems that Miss Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) is slipping back into some old bad habits. She might not have thought twice about letting herself into Carter’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) apartment and greeting him in the eye-catching emerald green gown, but it gave us some serious pause.
In fact, we’re grateful that Carter doesn’t own a bunny rabbit, because if he does what we suspect he will do – which is soundly reject her and pleas for reconciliation – there is every possibility that Zoe could go full-on Fatal Attraction.
Much like the above-mentioned Vinny and Finn storyline, we can’t say that’s where this tale is headed, but it does bear thinking about.
* First Thomas, and then Zoe, and now Flo – the forgiveness train is certain barreling down the track. Here’s hoping that its next stop is Xander’s (Adain Bradley) front door. We’ve missed him, and he’d be a perfect spoiler for the budding Zende (Delon de Metz)/Paris (Diamond White) romance. The Bold and the Beautiful weekdays on CBS.
