Stop us if you’ve heard this one before. A totally expendable character, inexplicably dressed head to toe in black, teeters onto a highway and runs right smack into an oncoming vehicle.

Yes, Vinny’s (Joe LoCicero) death is nothing more than a poor retread of Darla Einstein Forrester’s demise, right down to alcohol playing a role in the whole debacle.

And riddle us this. When is a murder mystery not a murder mystery? Maybe when there is no outright murder and not a shred of mystery? We were promised one thing by the PTB and were handed something entirely straight forward.

The person we most suspected as being the victim wound up being killed, and there was no question as to who did it. And before you say Liam (Scott Clifton), let us correct you. Vinny’s killer was Bill Spencer (Don Diamont).

Granted Bill was not behind the wheel of the car. But he failed to provide aide for a mortally wounded man. This storyline’s only saving grace, is the POWERHOUSE performances being given by Diamont and Clifton. Gentlemen, we bow to your immense talent.

Further BB Musings

* Kudos are also due to Matthew Atkinson for both his hilarious send up of Bill “I dye my hair and have an addiction to getting my teeth whitened” Spencer and his utter devastation upon identifying Vinny’s corpse.

* How did Hope (Annika Noelle) manage to refrain from giving Finn (Tanner Novlan) one heck of a history lesson, let alone keep a straight face, when he claimed he could forgive Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) her cheating – with Liam – because it had been a one off? Lord, the stories that woman could tell you.

* Dear Paris (Diamond White), you have certainly stumbled onto a keeper. Even after spending an ordinate amount of time listening to what could only be described as the cacophony of a dying school of whales emanating from your stomach, Zende (Delon de Metz) still wants to hang.

* Correct us if we’re wrong, but did Quinn (Rena Sofer), a fifty-something woman who styles herself the matriarch of a family, really encourage someone to dose their sister with gut healthy enzymes and then joke about the fact that the young woman would be humiliated by her resulting rumbly tummy?

And while we’re on the subject of Quinn, what is with her and her penchant for putting things into other’s people’s drinks? First she spikes Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) libation with vodka and now this?

Well, in the interest of fairness, Stephanie (Susan Flannery) did try to spike Morgan DeWitt’s coffee with a drug that would induce an abortion – so Quinn’s in good company. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
