When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.
Characters on The Bold and the Beautiful clearly have both long-term and short-term memory problems. It was just a few weeks ago that the Forresters were about to blithely treat Jack Finnegan (Ted King) and his wife, Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) to dinner at Il Giardino…where Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) works and has done so since 2018. And yet, when she walks into the house, they all react like they haven’t seen her in nigh on 20 years.
Then Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) gets all up Sheila’s face with her pitiful, “you’re responsible for my mommy not being around, waaahh, waaahh!” What Sheila should have said was, “No, Steffy. THAT would be the sociopathic sheik who stuffed Taylor’s coffin with a dummy and made off with the real McCoy. The only thing I did was accidentally put a bullet in her chest…oh, and since you shot me three years ago, I think we’re even!”
And can someone please explain to us how Pam Douglas (Alley Mills) would have photographs dating back to Sheila’s marriage to Eric Forrester (John McCook)? It wasn’t like Stephanie (Susan Flannery) was sending her hated mother, or her little sister copies of family mementos – oh, and by the by, we don’t for a second believe that if Bold and the Beautiful’s Pam did have a stash of family photographs that she would just give them away to Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) so willy-nilly.
* Here’s hoping that the writers don’t try and shoehorn either a current contract player, like Eric or a past favorite – like Ian Buchanan’s James Warwick – into the “Who’s Finn’s Daddy?” storyline. Also, this tale could actually go a long way in explaining Sheila’s barely touched upon backstory, i.e. she was so gung ho to have that baby with The Young and the Restless’s Scott Granger (Peter Barton) because it was her way of making up for the son she’d placed up for adoption.
* The fact that John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) just stood there and actually allowed Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) to accuse him not once, but twice of conspiring with Sheila to infiltrate the family proves what kind of man he is. A lesser one, who actually knew what was going on, would probably have let his fists do the talking – and Ridge would have deserved it.
* It was sad that Donna and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) saw fit to sit around and compare Eric’s many wives – especially Sheila and Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer). They’re both just awful women, so it really shouldn’t be a “this one is better than that one because of XY&Z” situation.
