Jeff Kober Joins Soap Hub for a Fireside Chat
Jeff Kober made the General Hospital scene in February of 2020 as bad guy Cyrus Renault. From his first appearance, Kober established his mobster character with a sense of eerie calmness, which keeps everyone in Port Charles on their toes whenever they are around him.
The show’s writers decided that Cyrus wouldn’t be just any other villain — his father is Gordon Grey, the biological father of Laura Collins (Genie Francis). Cyrus is also the full-blooded brother of Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight). While he is currently incarcerated, there’s always the chance that Cyrus, who claims to have now found religion, will pop up again — probably when we least expect him!
Jeff Kober — China Beach and Other Credits
In addition to his role as Cyrus, Jeff Kober is also known for his runs on the critically acclaimed series China Beach as Sgt. Evan ‘Dodger’ Winslow. He appeared as Harris Keane on NCIS: Los Angeles, Joe on The Walking Dead, and played Jacob Hale Jr. on Sons of Anarchy. Kober also played Guy Stafford on the nighttime soap opera Falcon Crest.
Life Off-Screen
Away from acting, Kober practices mediation. In fact, he has an entire Instagram account (@jeffkobermeditation) devoted to the practice. Wed to Adele Slaughter since 2013, Kober has a daughter Emily from a previous marriage. Also, Jeff Kober received a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2022 for his role as Cyrus in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
