They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this protective older brother grew up to be?
Star Of The Soaps
Obviously this young man (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not much of a hint.
So try these on for size. In his youth, the actor was a model. One of his earliest acting credits is the TV series, Who’s the Boss. He had a recurring role on a hit primetime soap and in his capacity as a producer, he has worked with such film luminaries as Robert De Niro, Tommy Lee Jones, and Morgan Freeman. He is also a singer/songwriter, a member of a band, and People magazine once voted him one of their Most Beautiful People in the World.
But just who can he be? Is this a photograph of Jacob Young (ex-Rick Forrester, BB), Patrick Muldoon (ex Austin Reed, DAYS), Steve Burton (Jason Morgan, GH) or Thad Luckinbill (ex-J.T. Hellstrom, YR)?
Jacob Young
Though Young is a singer – with an eponymous CD to his credit – and an actor who snagged an accolade from People magazine, his “award” was for Sexiest Soap Star. And since he didn’t fit the other hints, Young isn’t today’s featured star.
Steve Burton
Sure, one of Burton’s earliest acting credits was the TV show Who’s the Boss? — and yes, he is a member of the cover band Port Chuck (alongside other daytime stars like Brandon Barash and Scott Reeves).
However, he is not a film producer (though he has written a screenplay and directed a feature-length film) and the recurring character he played was Chris Fuller on the sitcom Out of This World. So he isn’t the answer to today’s identity query.
Thad Luckinbill
Nor is Luckinbill. Despite his prolific work as a producer (via his production company, Black Label Media), he has not yet worked with the celebrities mentioned above. And though he did have a recurring role on the soaptastic MTV series Undressed, and an interest in composing music and lyrics, Luckinbill has yet to be honored in the pages of People.
Patrick Muldoon
Muldoon, who is best known for originating the role of Austin Reed on DAYS, began his acting career with a guest role in Who’s the Boss? – which was quickly followed by appearances on Saved by the Bell and Silk Stalkings. Following his stint on DAYS, Muldoon caused quite a sensation with his run as the diabolical Richard Hart on FOX’s Melrose Place.
Muldoon, who turned to acting after spending a number of years working as a model, is a founding member and the lead singer of the band The Sleeping Masses. In 2015, he added ‘producer’ to his resume and his work in that area has included the star-studded The Comeback Trail.
So, if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Patrick Muldoon, then you were absolutely correct!
