Who Did This Perfectly Posed Young Lady Grow Up To Play On Soaps?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this perfectly posed young miss grew up to be?

Star Of The Soaps

Obviously this young woman (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.

So try these on for size. She started acting at the age of 6 at her local community playhouse. She obtained a B.A. degree in Psychology and attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. She has appeared in three daytime soaps. The role for which she is most well known was originated by another and her professional acting debut took place in a Meg Ryan/Hugh Jackman-starring picture.

But just who can she be? Is this a photograph of Nancy Sloan (ex-Katie Logan, BB), Martha Madison (Belle Black, DAYS), Robin Mattson (ex-Heather Webber, GH), or Susan Walters (ex-Diane Jenkins, YR)?

Nancy Sloan

Sloan was an original cast member of BB and she was even featured in its opening episode. And her second daytime role – DAYS’ Sally Wales – was also exclusive to the actress. So she’s automatically out of the running as the potential answer to our identity query.

Robin Mattson

Mattson is perhaps most famous for playing GH’s premiere psychopath Heather Webber though she was the third actress to embody the part. However, she began acting at the age of 7, not 6, and her professional debut came courtesy of the 1966 picture Namu, the Killer Whale. And she has also starred in far more than three daytime soaps.

Susan Walters

Walters was indeed the second actress to play YR’s Diane Jenkins. However, that and the ABC soap opera Loving proved to be her only forays into this particular daytime genre. So she isn’t today’s featured star.

Martha Madison

But Madison is. She began honing her craft at the Actors Theatre of Houston when she was merely 6 years of age but her efforts definitely paid off. Her acting debut came courtesy of the 2001 romantic comedy/fantasy film Kate and Leopold, which was followed by a guest spot on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and a (brief) recurring part on Passions.

Afterward, she landed the plum role of Belle on DAYS – replacing departing actress Kirsten Storms (now Maxie on GH) in the process. In 2011, Madison would pinch hit for Rebecca Herbst (also on GH) when the actress temporarily stepped away from her role as Elizbeth Webber, R.N.

So if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Martha Maddison, then you were absolutely correct!
