They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this finger inspecting cutie grew up to be?
Star Of The Soaps
Obviously this young woman (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.
So try these on for size. She’s been interested in acting since she was a child. She performed in a number of plays staged by her alma matters. She majored in communications at Fordham University. She has appeared in a number of nationally televised commercials. She is a soap hopper. One of her characters was involved in the first same-sex relationship on a daytime serial. And her real-life pregnancy was incorporated into her reel-life world.
But just who can she be? Is this a photograph of Joanna Johnson (ex-Karen Spencer, BB), Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker Brady, DAYS), Laura Wright (Carly Roberts Corinthos, GH), or Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell, YR)?
Joanna Johnson
Johnson’s second BB character – she had, after all, also played Karen’s identical twin, Caroline – was indeed part of a same-sex coupling. But though it was a first for BB, it was hardly a first for daytime. So Johnson isn’t today’s featured star.
Arianne Zucker
Zucker appeared in commercials for Burger King, Mazda, and McDonald’s but she’s only appeared in one daytime soap and her 2009 pregnancy was not incorporated into the show’s scripts. So she isn’t the answer to today’s identity query.
Laura Wright
And neither is Wright. This in spite of the facts that she was a theater kid throughout her high school years (racking up appearances in plays such as Gypsy, Our Town, and You Can’t Take It with You) and that she has starred in four daytime soaps – Loving (ex-Ally Rescott Bowman), The City, (ex-Ally Rescott Bowman), Guiding Light (ex-Cassie Layne Winslow), and GH.
Elizabeth Hendrickson
Hendrickson had been delighting family and friends with her antics since she was 5 years old, and by the time she was in the sixth grade, she knew that she wanted to become an actress.
She moved to New York to pursue that dream and quickly racked up credits that included commercials for Papa John’s and Marshalls, guest spots on series such as Law & Order: SVU, and two featured parts on All My Children. Ironically, both Mary Francis “Frankie” Stone and Mary Margaret “Maggie” Stone found themselves involved with out-and-proud lesbian Bianca Montgomery.
So, if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Elizabeth Hendrickson – whose real-life pregnancy served as story fodder for Chloe’s third little blessing, – then you were absolutely correct!
