Some characters have been known to swoon over marriage proposals. Others have had to give answers to the question while knee-deep in some dicey circumstances – both All My Children’s Erica Kane and The Young and the Restless’ Nikki Newman accepted proposals on their supposed death beds. And it’s also true that some soap stars have agreed to pledge their troths after whirlwind courtships and outrageous displays of affection.
Which Soap Star Was It?
All of these actors are either an alum of a long-ago classic – like All My Children – or they are alum of, or currently starring in, one of the four remaining soaps – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless. But only one of them can say that they accepted a marriage proposal in front of a stadium full of New York Yankees fans.
But who can that actor be? Was it Alexa Havins (ex-Babe Carey Chandler, AMC), Kelly Kruger (ex-Eva, BB), Maura West (Ava Jerome, GH), or Max Ehrich (ex-Fenmore Baldwin, YR)?

In a case of life imitating art, Havins accepted a proposal from her fiancé – and fellow AMC star – Justin Bruening (ex-Jamie) minutes after the director yelled cut on a scene that featured her character saying yes to the exact same kind of proposal issued by Bruening’s character.
Kelly Kruger
A vacation with boyfriend – and one-time screen partner – Darin Brooks to the City of Lights, ended with Kruger saying yes to his request for her hand in marriage. The BB star popped the question on the terrace of their hotel suite, which overlooked the magnificent Eiffel Tower.
Max Ehrich
Former YR star, Ehrich proposed to girlfriend and singing superstar Demi Lovato on a beach in Malibu, California with the aid of a diamond ring crafted by celebrity jeweler Peter Marco. The entire exchange was photographed by a mutual friend of the couple.
Maura West
If there was one thing that West, a life long Yankee devotee, could change about husband Scott DeFreitas (ex-Andy, As the World Turns), it would be his allegiance to the Boston Red Sox. But despite their difference in opinion on which team reigns supreme, both can agree that DeFreitas went all-out where the marriage proposal was concerned.
The actor – who met West while they were both performing on ATWT (she played Carly) – put aside his indifference for the New York team and accompanied his then-girlfriend to a game at Yankee Stadium. While there, the giant video screen in the arena’s center field displayed DeFreitas’s marriage proposal… and West, of course, said yes!
