Once upon a time, soaps used to be famous for their weddings. General Hospital’s (GH) Luke and Laura’s ceremony is the highest-rated daytime episode of all time. Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) Bo and Hope’s wedding – not to mention the one Bo rescued her from on his motorcycle – are iconic.
Victor and Nikki getting married on The Young and the Restless (YR) (the first time, not the half-dozen times afterwards) was practically royal. And the Bold and the Beautiful (BB) knows how to make an exchange of vows a fashion extravaganza.

And then there are all the meaningful looks being passed back and forth, especially if the wrong couple is exchanging vows, or another couple is on the outs and finding every line of the ceremony personally offensive.
The Sanctity of Marriage
Not if they don’t mean it, pout a burned too many times 36%. What’s the point of getting married if you’re signing divorce papers six months later? And how are we supposed to take the third ceremony that year seriously?
Marriage should be the ultimate satisfactory pay-off, not merely a sweeps month stunt. How long did BB’s Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) wear Bill’s (Don Diamont) ring before stomping out in a huff because the man she married turned out to be… exactly the man she married?
See? Marriage doesn’t always mean happily ever after, so maybe things should
