May 2024 was a big month for Soap Operas. It was sweeps month, and Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless pulled out all the stops, resulting in some excellent performances.
Soap Hub asked viewers to vote all last week on their favorite performances for each soap opera. The results are in, and here’s who won for each soap.
May gave us some dramatic DAYS, including a painful Mother’s Day for more than one of the characters. The nominees are Ashley Puzemis (Holly), Raven Bowens (Chanel), and a double dose of Gregs, Rikaart (Leo), and Vaughan (Eric). While all four excelled at playing the pain and anguish of their characters’ messy lives, only one actor took the top spot.
Eric Brady’s world imploded after Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) told him that Jude was really Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and EJ’s (Daniel Feuerriegel) son. Instead of immediately falling apart, he first did the right thing and brought Jude (Oliver McLarty) to Nicole. He saved the falling apart for afterward. Greg Vaughan played the anger, devastation, and depression of losing yet another baby so well that he broke our hearts. The fans had no choice but to vote for Vaughan as DAYS’s performer of the month for May. Congratulations, Greg!

GH saw a great month with Kate Mansi (Kristina), Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri), Jophielle Love (Violet), and Michael Easton (Finn) garnering the top positions in May. All of them were mired in compelling stories and brought their A-game front and center.
Dealing with the death of his father and his subsequent downing of liquor to ease his pain, Michael Easton grabbed the number one spot with his tragic performance as he balanced grief and addiction. Congratulations, Michael!

B&B nominees for April included Lisa Yamada (Luna), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy), Kimberlin Brown (Sheila), and Sean Kanan (Deacon). You voted, and, Kanan won the top honors for May.
Kanan’s portrayal of Deacon continues to be the focal point for the latest story that is keeping sociopath Sheila Carter on the show’s canvas. Really, who hasn’t Sheila shot or tried to do away with? Kanan makes Deacon’s devotion to Sheila seem more than plausible – we truly believe that he cares for her. Sheila’s always said all she ever wanted was for someone to love her, and maybe, just maybe, she’s found that person.
Congratulations, Sean Kanan, on a month filled with fantastic performances!

The nominees for May Performer of the Month for Y&R included Christel Khalil (Lily), Peter Bergman (Jack), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), and Eileen Davidson (Ashley). While each actor did an amazing job, Davidson, for the second month in a row, won the honors as voted on by fans. Her tour de force with the DID storyline has been must-see TV.
The show has gotten creative with how the scenes are directed and Davidson is shining playing Ashley and her alters. Bravo, and congratulations!
